Upcycling – Small Wooden Unit

I picked up this cute little unit on Freegle..for FREE. So happy. I’ve become obsessed with these sites. It’s actually amazing what people will just give away. And don’t worry, I don’t just take take take! I’ve listed plenty of things myself so it’s all good and balanced.

As soon as I saw this advertised, I already had a vision for it!

Lots of sanding was needed to get rid of surface staining and old varnish. To sand this properly the key to success was to take the whole thing apart.

Of course it can be time consuming and you don’t have to but personally, for a decent job and a proper finish it’s better in the long run!

My sanding was done with a multitool sanding attachment. My little arms would have struggled to do this all by hand!

After sanding, it was time to spray!

My vision for this one was something pastelly and then I liked the idea of having dark inside panels.

The paints I used were Plastikote – Pastel Green Chalk Spray (£6.99 in B&M) on the outside panels and a grey primer spray for the inside panels.

Finished Product!
